HOW IT STARTED

Based in the North West of England, our family has run a driven pheasant and partridge shoot for over 20 years. This has evolved over time into a premier high bird shoot and it is  often compared to many of the top shoots in Northern England. This had led to a well established client base with some teams having visited over 20 consecutive years. During our off season, we have been visiting the Florida Keys for the last 20 years, providing us with some sensational fishing for some of the worlds most renowned game fish. This allowed us to build up considerable knowledge of both the area and the fishing, as well as establishing connections with a number of the best fishing guides the Keys has to offer alongside other useful contacts.

Many people who are regularly involved in field sports take part in many of its disciplines. Naturally, this resulted in many of our client teams taken great interest in our Florida Keys fishing trips. These clients often said they would love to embark on such a trip, but wouldn't know where to start in terms of travel, where to stay, when to fish, what to fish for etc. Our experience in hospitality and hosting field sports led to the idea of hosting these trips which we have become well rehearsed in to share the amazing fishing experiences the Florida Keys has to offer.

LINGHOLM SPORTFISHING CAPTAINS

CAPTAIN PAUL FISICARO

STRIP STRIKE CHARTERS

EXPERIENCE: 26 YEARS

My name is Capt. Paul Fisicaro and I have been guiding in the Florida Keys for 26 years. I was born and raised in the Bronx New York where my passion for fishing first started at age 4. My father is the one who showed me what fishing was all about and that's all it took. Whether it was fishing for stripers and bluefish off the jetties of the L.I. Sound or fishing off a 14 ft. skiff in the bay for flounder or fluke, I couldn't be happier.
Now I'm in the Florida Keys and doing what I love most. When I came to live in the Keys, I found that catching bonefish, tarpon and permit to be one of the most thrilling times I had ever experienced. Once I had experienced that thrill, I decided to do it for a living and to show other anglers one of the most enjoyable aspects of fishing. The expression I see on their faces, makes it all worth while.

CAPTAIN DEREK RUST

RUSTY FLY CHARTERS

EXPERIENCE: 14 YEARS

My name is Captain Derek Rust.  I was born in the small town of Whitman, Massachusetts located on the south shore of the state.  I grew up there fishing the local ponds for bass, and the near coastal waters for stripers, bluefish, and false albies.  Fishing was always a passion of mine, and it started at a very early age. My mother and my uncle were responsible for getting me into the sport of fishing.  They always made time to bring me out fishing when I was young, and I will never forget that.

Once I started fly fishing, it became a quest to catch everything that swims on a fly, and, I spend all of my free time and money doing it.  This quest has taken me to some pretty amazing places around the planet in search of new challenges.  This is what ultimately drove me to move to the Keys full time.

CAPTAIN PABLO RODRIGUEZ

SLAMTIME CHARTERS

EXPERIENCE: 26 YEARS

I am Captain Pablo Rodriguez, Born in South America, in the small country of Uruguay. As a toddler I was introduced to the life of camping and fishing with family and friends. At a young age my family made the move to South Florida. This is where I really got to explore my passion for fishing. Moving to South Florida (Miami) it became apparent that we were only miles from the Florida Keys, 10,000 islands, Everglades, Biscayne Bay, Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and a maze of freshwater canals, lakes, and estuaries. Things truly a sportsman’s paradise. The efforts to learn the diversity of home were countless. From canoes, skiffs, center consoles, to beautiful Sportfishing vessels. Six inches of water to six thousand feet of water. I just couldn’t get enough. Soon around 1999 I was able to turn my passion for fishing to an amazing career, loving what I do day in and day out.
